I have had many exciting holidays in Germany since I was young. I have visited the cities of Berlin, Leipzig and Hanover, taken a boat ride on the River Rhine, and travelled extensively on the train network. My favourite place however is a small town called Wernigerode, deep in the Harz Mountains. I love the steam trains that chug up the mountains to The Brocken. All my trains on my garden railway are German or Swiss based.
