I really enjoy going to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
I went in 2012 when Mark Webber won, 2013, won by Nico Rosberg, and in 2014 and 2019, both won by Lewis Hamilton.
In 2012, the year it was pouring with rain, we decided to stay in a tent which was not the best idea Dad had ever come up with! My wheelchair got stuck in the mud, and it was very difficult to push!
Learning from our lesson, we rented a Motorhome in 2013 and 2014 which was much better, albeit far more expensive.
Weighing up the costs, in 2019 we stayed at Grandma’s in Northampton and took a taxi to the circuit – which turned out the cheapest of all options taking into account food/drink etc which Grandma prepared.
Disabled access is very good at the circuit, providing the weather is good. My top tip is to book a space in a grandstand with a roof, just in case! If you are able to transfer into a seat and can manage a few steps, it is best to book a few row’s back to get a better view.
